Privacy Policy
This policy covers handyman.inducargroup.com — the quote form, the photos you send with it and the tracking on the site. It is written to be read, not to be survived: if something here is not clear, ask us before you send anything.
1. What we actually collect
Everything below is what the form and the site genuinely store. We have listed it field by field rather than saying "your personal information", so you can check it against what you typed.
You type it in
- Name and phone number — required. Without them we cannot quote or call you back.
- Email address — optional. Used to send the quote in writing if you give it.
- Suburb — to confirm we service the area and price travel and parking honestly.
- Service, job details, bedroom and bathroom counts — to scope and price the work.
- Photos of the job — optional, up to three, 2 MB each. Covered separately in section 2.
The form records it automatically
- Your consent and the moment you gave it — we store both whether you ticked the consent box and the timestamp. That record exists so we can prove we had permission to contact you, and so you can challenge it if we did not.
-
Campaign attribution —
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign,utm_content,utm_termand the advertising click identifiersfbclid(Meta),gclid(Google) andmsclkid(Microsoft), when they are present in the link you arrived through. - The page URL you submitted from.
- Your IP address — used for rate limiting, to stop the form being used for spam, and hashed before it is sent to Meta (section 4).
We do not ask for, and the form does not store, your street address, date of birth, government identifiers or payment details. There is no payment on this site.
2. The photos you send
Photos are the fastest way to get an accurate price, so we would rather be precise about what happens to them.
- They are stored on our own server, not on a third-party image host. That server is located overseas — this is a cross-border disclosure under Australian Privacy Principle 8, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise.
- They are renamed on upload to an internal reference — your original filename is not kept as the stored name — and they are not served publicly — the storage directory is blocked at the web server and returns 404.
- We check the file is genuinely an image before saving it.
- We use them to quote and to brief whoever does the work. We do not publish them, use them in advertising or put them on this website without asking you first, in writing, for that specific photo.
If you send photos over WhatsApp instead, they sit in that chat under WhatsApp's own terms, and the same rule applies: we do not publish them without asking.
3. What we use it for
- Preparing and sending your quote.
- Contacting you about that quote and scheduling the work.
- Doing the job, invoicing it and keeping the records a business is required to keep.
- Understanding which advertising actually produces enquiries, so we stop paying for the advertising that does not.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other businesses for their own marketing.
4. Who else sees it
- Microsoft 365 — the quote notification and any written reply travel as ordinary email through our Microsoft business mailbox.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — when advertising is running, we send a conversion event so Meta can attribute the enquiry to the ad. Contact details in that event are hashed with SHA-256 before they leave our server; Meta receives the hash, not your phone number or email in readable form.
- Google — analytics and advertising measurement, and only after you accept analytics cookies in the banner. If you decline, these do not load.
- Licensed trades and suppliers — if your job needs a licensed electrician or plumber, we pass on only what they need to attend: the address, the access details and the problem.
5. Cookies and tracking
Cookies needed to make the site and the form work are always on. Analytics and advertising cookies are off by default and only load if you accept them in the banner. You can change your mind at any time — clearing this site's cookies in your browser returns you to the default, and the banner will ask again.
6. Marketing messages
We contact you about your enquiry. If we ever send anything promotional, it will identify us, and it will carry a way to unsubscribe that works — as the Spam Act 2003 requires. Replying "STOP" to an SMS or asking us once by phone is enough; you do not need to put it in writing.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that did not become jobs — kept while the quote is live and then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Completed jobs — kept for seven years, which is what Australian tax and business record-keeping requires.
- Photos — deleted with the enquiry they belong to, or on request.
8. Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it, and we will not charge you or make you explain why. If we cannot delete something because we are legally required to keep it — a tax record, for example — we will tell you exactly which record and why.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
9. Security, stated plainly
The site is served over HTTPS, the form is rate-limited against abuse, and the database sits behind credentials that are not shared with any other business. No system is perfect. If we ever have a breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires — we will not wait to be found out.
